"As you all may or may not know, the childhood home of French Revolutionary Louis Antoine de Saint-Just in Blerancourt, France, which has operated for some time as a museum devoted to Saint-Just and the French Revolution, was struck by a devastating fire in June of 2012. The roof of the building, and some of its support beams that date back to the 18th century, were severely damaged. Much of the museum's lower floors suffered smoke and water damage as well.
To see the effects of this tragedy was heartbreaking. So a bunch of us French Revolution fans have teamed up to start a group called the Friends of Saint-Just ( [link] ) and have launched a small etsy shop to raise funds for the museum: [link]
It is a rolling fundraiser. Items are added to the shop as we can complete them. The museum's president, Anne Quennedey, has informed me that the museum will be looking to take the funds and any donations starting in February 2013. Our initial goal at the Friends is to raise at least $100 for the museum. ( If you would like to donate or find out more about the museum, you may send an email to the Association for the Preservation of Saint-Just's House: asso.st.just@gmail.com. They accept emails in English if you do not speak French. Or you can send me a note and I will pass along the information they have provided to me so far.)
We are looking for ideas for more shop items. Currently, our offerings are very modest. If you have an idea, or if you are willing to donate any items to the shop, please send me a note. If you wish to donate funds to the cause, you may also send me a note and I will give you the details about making a donation via PayPal.
Thanks so much for your support!

Please take a few minutes to check out both the Tumblr site and the Etsy shop - it's completely worth it. This DA group has definitely grown in size over the past few months, and I'm sure we can all pull together and do our bit our help. Thanks guys!
